Leads

A lead is a prospective renter who's expressed interest in one of your units. The Leads inbox keeps every inquiry in one place so nothing slips through the cracks.

What a lead is

A lead is an inquiry from someone interested in renting from you, a prospective tenant who hasn't signed anything yet. Leads are how you track interest in your vacant units before it turns into a lease.

The Leads inbox surfaces your unread leads first, so you can see new inquiries at a glance and respond before they go cold.

Where leads come from

Leads arrive two ways:

  • Your public listing form — when you list a vacant unit, prospects can submit an inquiry from your listing site, and it lands in your Leads inbox automatically. You control your listing setup under Settings → Listing .
  • Added manually — when someone reaches out by phone, email, or in person, you can enter the lead yourself so it's tracked alongside the rest.

Working a lead

Open a lead to see its detail view: the prospect's contact information, the unit or property they're interested in, and any message they left. From there you can follow up, keep notes, and decide whether to move them forward.

Converting a lead into a tenant

When a prospect is ready to rent, you convert the lead into a tenant, carrying their details over so you don't re-key anything. From there you can attach them to a lease.

  1. Go to Rentals → Leads and open the lead you want to work.
  2. Review their contact details and the unit they're interested in.
  3. When they're ready to proceed, choose Convert to Tenant, and their information becomes a tenant record.
  4. Create a lease and attach the new tenant to the unit.

Respond to leads promptly

Prospective renters often inquire about several places at once. The faster you reply, the better your chances of filling a vacancy, so keep an eye on the unread count in your Leads inbox and follow up while interest is fresh.
